Day 4 Ayrshire Hills, Q. 7.7.23

Short walk this morning. It was 6°.

Went on a 12km 4WD adventure when we left the campground. 

Road looked good to start with. 

It deteriorated quickly as it had rain a few days ago.

It was a bit slippery in places but we had it in 4WD with the diff lockers on and traction control off and all was good.

We stopped in Ilfracombe for a dip in the artesian water but it was closed so we had a coffee and moved on. 

Qantas museum as we came into Longreach. Stopped to refuel @$1.95.7 and get some supplies. Our lunch stop was at Macsland rest area, 40kms from Longreach. 

We stopped in Winton to checkout the musical fence. 

Pics along the way. We saw Brolgas, Emus and Bustards today.

Free camping at Ayrshire Hills, roughly half way between Winton and Kynuna.

The ground is soft in places.

Afternoon tea was had beside the van watching the road trains whizz past at a great rate of knots. The sunset was very pretty.
