Day 43. Karumba, Qld 15.8.23

We had a team meeting and decided to move on to Karumba. We have a few days up our sleeve until we do a cruise on Cobbold Gorge.

The camping area at Bang Bang is quite large, it could easily hold a couple of hundred vans with more across the road.

We headed off to Normanton. The birdlife was quite prolific. We saw lots of Brolgas, Kites and small grey birds with white heads about the size of a budgie.

As we were here only 2 years ago we didn't feel the need to explore more than to do the obligatory 'big things' photo, have coffee and grab a couple of things from the supermarket.  The guy at the shop was from Hervey Bay!

Brolgas in great numbers between Normanton and Karumba.

Flood Plains.

Priorities for me... 1. Put a load of washing on 2. Go for a swim until number 1 is completed!
The BoM said it was 30.5°at lunchtime.

We walked to the Sunset Tavern for dinner.
