Day 15. Jabiru, Kakadu NP

Overnight temperature dropped to 20°. Another spectacular sunrise today. So way too many photos again.

Finally got a (not too good) photo of the elusive Black-necked Stork.

Cormorant sitting in the tree.

He obviously thought he'd had enough and took off.

Lots of white birds on the other bank

These pink bushes are in abundance. I walked up to the lookout.

The birds were not happy to have Gunthers drone amongst them.

The colours were just beautiful.  My phone camera just can't capture the magic of this place.
A couple of shots from the drone. Our 3 camp sites in the bush ⬆️ and the Mary River ⬇️

After some tricky manoeuvring we were all set to hit the road at 9.30am.

Once we hit the black top I drove for 126kms, the further I've towed this van so far.
The start of Kakadu,  a good spot to pull over and have a cuppa.

South Alligator River.
Dean and us have powered, ensuite sites beside each other. Gunther is staying at a different park as this one was full when he tried to book.
After setting up we had lunch and jumped in the pool before going for a walk into the town Plaza.

Some delightful person has defaced the murals and buildings in the plaza.
It was 33° when we got back so the 3 of us walked over to Gunthers for a swim and drink at the bar beside the pool.  We ended up staying and having dinner at the bistro.
Made the most of the free washing machines and did a load of washing before blogging and bed. We have a big day planned for tomorrow.

Today we travelled 153kms.

Wikicamps (which has now been renamed Crappycamps since the failure of their forced updates) says we have travelled just over 3,600kms.
