Day 12 Katherine Hospital 15.7.23

We headed out for a bike ride at 7am this morning. Only got a few kms in when Mark had an incident. His front wheel slipped out from under him and threw him off. He bounced off the pathway and collected the steal buttress with his head.

He had a few cut and scrapes and a saw neck.  Gunther road back got his car and took him to the hospital.

I rode back and half packed up the van then drove in to the hospital. In the end it was such a long wait for a ct scan and xray that I went back to the van and packed up. Gunther helped me connect the car and van (actually he did the hitching) and he towed both vehicles around the corner to a safe spot.

It was a bit weird watching our van going away without us.

A pair of bower birds made a home under the tree.

The van park is full, so we have to move. Gunther drove our rig over to the hospital as they said we could park out the back. I was a bit nervous about having to do a quick left then right turn across the main street. Don't know how I would have managed without his help. 

Mark is being kept in overnight for observation as the ct scan showed a brain contusion. 

It was suggested by a hospital staff member that we move our vans into the carpark as where we were parked was a little unsavoury. They offered me a chair to sleep in my room if I didn't feel safe but with Gunther there I'm sure all will be well. Well lit up all night.
